SMART – Home Depot Training Program

A shortage of labor is one of the biggest problems the building materials industry faces.  You can’t sell more building products if there aren’t enough trained installers.

A few communities and unions are taking to steps to solve this problem while getting more people started on a great career path.

The Home Depot is taking a big step towards solving the labor shortage by pledging $50 million to train tradespeople.

Building materials manufacturers who also face this issue have not been a part of solving the labor shortage problem.  It’s like they either hope it will just work itself out somehow or someone else will take it on.

Manufactuersr probably won’t like some of the solutions that are being rolled out by factory builders like Katerra and others.

If you sell products through The Home Deopot, you should be asking them how you can help make this program even more successful.
